What Are YOU Hiding From the World? Lean Into It Instead

traits Twice in one day, by two separate people I was told that I am very nurturing. Each time I was somewhat startled.

Nurturing? Me? Really?

Which is incredibly funny because that is exactly what I do by profession, I nurture women into learning to love themselves so much that they start to break down the barriers that have been holding them back so they can begin to build their best lives.

Yet, I found myself in shock when these two separate individuals expressed their opinions about a part of myself I was so unsure of.

Have you ever been in this situation?

After a little reflection I realized this; I’ve been completely selling myself short  by being enthralled with characteristics I wanted to have instead of embracing the traits I already do.

I bet you have struggled with this yourself, haven't you?

This is a common amongst most people. We spend so much time in thoughts focused on the things we want to change about ourselves that we fail to embrace those beautiful, totally authentic and incredibly amazing qualities we DO posses now!

We hide because the stories we've been told or created feels safer then exposing our REAL selves. Sometimes this comes across as self-deprecating, because it seems easier to poke fun at ourselves first.

However, why NOT feel are greatness. Nurture those parts of ourselves and get comfortable with exposing our true selves instead of the stories.

Nurturing Soulful Hopeful Dreamer Compassionate Humorous

Those are just a few words that describe me. These few words embrace what I want to cultivate more of in my life. I also realized upon reflection that these are also the things that I tend to hid when I’m feeling insecure or scared of what others think.

Take Action: Now it’s your turn. Take out a piece of paper or a sticky note and write down 4-6 traits that you posses and want to cultivate more of in your life.

Do you find that these are often the same traits that you tend to hid from the world to make yourself smaller? Are these the things that, if you lived in that place more often would make you 100% authentic and happy?

My dears, let’s challenge ourselves to lean into these feelings, these traits and expose ourselves in a deeper way to the world. Let these guide us into new adventures, new insights, new creations and new life. The time is now, not tomorrow, not two weeks from now but now.

Lean into it.

Embrace it.

Live it.

If you feel so inclined I encourage you to share your words with us in the comments below.
